I am Liz Matuk Thorpe.
JOLYN started in 1992 with the purchase of “Pepper” from Kathy Moore in Napa, CA. JOLYN became real after Pepper won his Championship and we acquired a retired Champion bitch from Kathy. From there, I leased a beautiful bitch from Kathy, Ch Petite Syrah, who was the dam of my first home-bred Champion “Sailor”, Ch Kabree Dress Blues, named for my son in the Navy. I showed him to his Championship and I was hooked.
Many litters and Champions later, and through a stint of 18 years in Chiloquin, OR, following 22 years in Lafayette, CA, I moved to Gig Harbor, WA, following the death of my husband, and co-breeder, Charlie. Daughter, Lynne, moved with me and together we continued raising and showing our wonderful English Cockers, finishing 20 Champions to date, with more coming along.
In 2019, I married Paul Thorpe (seen here with me in the photo) and we have continued breeding, raising, and showing English Cockers on Fox Island, WA. I have been blessed by the mentorship of co-breeder Linda Dobbins of Indigo ECs. We breed for soundness, health, and temperament, always eager to meet the standard including conformation, movement, and that lovely expression and disposition.
